Once you realise that the bible is a man-made collection of mythologies, you lose the shackles of your servitude and you are on the way to freedom and progress.
The bible was not handed down by a god, it wasn’t dictated to a human scholar. It has nothing to do with a sky fairy, the bible was VOTED to be the word of god by a group of men in the 4th century. Simple as that. You don’t believe me?
Then let us begin ………
CONSTANTINE THE GREAT (274-357 CE)
The Roman Emperor Constantine the Great needed a single canon to be agreed upon by the Christian leaders and to help him unify and control the peoples of his vast Roman Empire. Until this time none of the religious leaders could agree on which texts would be considered “holy” and ” the word of god” and which ones would not be selected as “the word of god”
Constantine offered the various churches money to agree on a single canon that would be used by all Christians. So in other words, the Christian Bible was commissioned, paid for, inspected and approved by a pagan emperor for church use.
In H G Wells, The Outline of History Vol 1 p. 462-463 he says :-
“It marks the definite entry upon the stage of human affairs of the christian church and of christianity as it is generally understood in the world today. It marks the exact definition of christian teaching by the Nicene Creed.”
Constantine is of course, known for his establishing the “Sunday Worship” and the christian (catholic) church as the state religion in his Empire.
However, Constantine was also important for choosing Eusebius’ rendition of Origen’s bible , since ALL MODERN VERSIONS are based on the Codex Valticanus and the Codex Sinaiticus which are the Eusebio – Origen type. Who is Origen I hear you ask? Read on
ADAMANTIUS ORIGEN – (184-254)
was born in Alexandria, Egypt and was a pupil a the ‘School of Alexandria’ which was a theological school and was established in the 2nd Century AD. The school mixed Greek philosophy or Gnostic beliefs ( secret mystical occult knowledge) with Biblical teaching.
Origen taught many non christian doctrines, he said he would not hand down christian teachings, pure and unmixed but rather clothed with the precepts of pagan philosophy.
Jack Moorman, author of “Forever Settles” said :-
“Origen is considered by many to be the most profound mind in the history of the church. But infact it may be said that he had a greater corrupting influence on the early church and on the bible itself than any other man”
Some of Origen’s beliefs are as follows :-
- He believed man was divine
- He believed in the pre existence of soul’s
- He taught that everyone including the devil would be saved
- He described the trinity as a “hierarchy”
- He believed in purgatory
- He believed christ was created
- He taught transmigration
- He denied a literal interpretation of the genesis creation, taught that it was “myth” and there was no such person as “Adam”
- He taught that (based on Matthew 19) a true man of god should be castrated, which he did to himself
- He denied the physical resurrection of believers
Makes you think doesn’t it hmmm? A creation by an Egyptian, within Greek texts and letters with pagan occult connotations ( seen often within Catholicism and their rituals) for a pagan Roman Emperor creating a christian church. I see an elephant in the room hahaha.
We now move on to one of those Greek texts, which was based on Origen’s writings and formed the basis for Constantine’s canon of the christian church in the 4th Century.
CODEX SINAITICUS
The Codex Sinaiticus was in fact found by Constantin von Tischendorf (1815-1874) in 1844 in St Catherine’s Monastery, Mount Sinai. He noticed some old looking documents in a basket waiting to be fed into the kitchen stove.
“I perceived a large and wide basket full of old parchments, the librarian told me that two heaps like this had already been committed to the flames.”
The Sinaiticus was written by 3 different scribes and was later corrected by several others. Tischendorf counted 14,800 corrections in the manuscript. The carelessness that was exhibited in the copying of these texts by said scribes is laughable or maybe they did not see them as the “word of god?” The texts were written in the 6th and 7th centuries and it is obvious scribes did not consider them a pure text, or they wouldn’t have consigned them to the bin! Amazing when you think modern theologians revere them?
- The first modern bible to be published was in 1456 – The Vulgate aka The Guttenburg Bible
We now move onto Erasmus’ role in the perpetuated mythological writings of man
DESIDERIUS ERASMUS ROTERODAMUS – (1466-1536)
A Dutch renaissance humanist, catholic priest, social critic, teacher and theologian. Erasmus began work on a fresh Latin New Testament in 1512 his TEXTUS RECEPTUS. Erasmus had been studying Greek texts and manuscripts for many years. However the 6 manuscripts he had at his disposal were all 12th Century or later and all from the Byzantine tradition. (Byzantine texts originally written in 400 AD)
The overwhelming success of Erasmus new Testament, meant that many publishers produced their own versions of the Greek New Testament rather than doing their own critical work. There are in fact hundreds of versions of the Textus Receptus and all are different.
ROBERT ESTIENNE (known as Stephanus 1503-1539) printed several editions. the third edition of 1551 contains the translations of Erasmus and the Vulgate. It was in this edition that the New Testament division into verses is first introduced.
We now move on the THE KING JAMES VERSION OF THE NEW TESTAMENT
A conference was called in 1604 at Hampton Court. Assembled together were bishops, clergymen, professors and four puritan divines. you might say it was the complaints of the puritans into the corruption of the holy texts that put the wheels in motion for a new holy book. Using the Codex Sinaiticus, Codex Vaticanus and Codex Receptus and probably a few others, 8 scholars set to work on the new ‘Magnus Opus” ( yes I am laughing here).
An interesting fact is that Francis Bacon was one of the editors of the KJV, and it is said the 1611 version is ornamented with Bacon’s symbols, these symbols are Rosicrucianly marked to call attention of the initiated to them and to tell them that without doubt this is one of Bacon’s books. Every one of the ornaments concealed some of the Rosicrucian emblems and occasionally a masonic emblem.
The first edition of the KJV, which was edited and prepared under masonic supervision, bears more masons marks than the Cathedral of Strasbourg – Manly P Hall.
Freemasonry and masonic lodges have never been something I have studied, but I found it an interesting hidden agenda and one maybe to be looked into in a future post.
FACTS ABOUT THE NEW TESTAMENT
- 11 of the 27 books in the New Testament are believed by modern scholars to be ancient forgeries
- These forgeries include Ephesians, Colossians, 1 and 2 Peter, james as well as the Gospels of Matthew, Mark and John
- Some scholars believe that many of the New Testament’s forgeries were manufactured by early christian leaders trying to settle theological feuds
- the authors of all four gospels are unknown and were not written by Jesus’ disciples
- The first Gospel written was mark, which wa recorded at least 3 decades after the death of christ by an anonymous author
- there are over several dozen gospels that existed during the time of the early church known as Apocryphal gospels
Now tell me again how your bible is the word of god any more than any other religious texts or gods are real? How cute to believe in ancient folklore? hmmm?
IN CONCLUSION
The KJV was completed in 1611 by eight member of the Church of England.
There were and still are no original texts to translate. The oldest manuscripts we have were written down hundreds of years after the last apostle died. There are over 8,000 of these old manuscripts, no two are alike.
The King James translators, used previously edited translations to create a version their king and parliament would approve of.
So all you theist’s out there that believe the NT is “THE WORD OF GOD” in actuality believe in a fictional novel edited in the 17th century from 16th century translations of 8,000 contradictory copies of 4th Century scrolls that claim to be copies of lost letters written in the first century.
THAT’S NOT FAITH. THAT’S INSANITY.
The study of theology as it stands in the christian church, is the study of nothing, it is founded on nothing, it rests on no principles, it proceeds by no authority, it has no real data, it can demonstrate nothing, and it admits of no conclusion.
RELIGION IS THEREFORE THE STUDY OF NOTHING
The theists couldn’t even get complete agreement at the 1st Council of Nicea.
Several dissenters were either exiled or killed for failing to toe the party line.
If you can’t get your own church leaders to believe it, how compelling can it be?

Again, superb research. I like your method. Why don’t you put these in journals. If I were free to air my views, I’ll make the best of such freedom to proliferate reason. Keep doing the good works. 😉

I’m assuming you currently reside in a muslim country? Well, freedom to express atheistic views does little at best to free minds from convenient beliefs which offer an identity, a cause and a hedonistic afterlife, even if ungrounded. But, I’m extremely confident that all religions will die within a generation.

Yes, I reside in Nigeria, a 99% religion-infested country. It’s always the internet that gives people like me life, amid all the chaos of delusion. These blogs keep me entertained & educated. But hardly would religion end in a generation. May be a century, or even more, since some countries would enforce it with both military & propagandist might.

I’m a bit more optimistic than that. The way people get exposed to ideas on the internet constitutes the greatest achievement in education in history. Just challenging religion will be its undoing. It comes down to religion vs. the Internet. I do agree that religion is an infestation.

I agree. The problem with Islam right now is it is displaying a knee jerk reaction to the internet influence westernising its population.
They cannot hold back innovation, education and modern thinking forever..
Slippery slope…

That’s why you see pathetic attempts to keep their sheep blind, like “islamic science” or “the prophet’s name written on the surface of Mars”. How retarded and pathetic…

How long can they believe that Mo rode on a winged horse to the moon, or the the earth revolves around the sun.
And this week they are blaming women in Saudi wearing make up provoking mens lust….
How long before make up will be banned in sharia law controlled countries and when will men stop believing their religion sees them as mindless lustful animals?
Sorry rant over 😦

These are desperate acts because religions are dying. All this is the death rattle of religion in a futile attempt to stay alive in the age of information.

Hi M…
as you know the research is the fun part for me writing the article is pretty much done in my head beforehand and just flows.
Was it Hitchcock who did so much prep shooting the movie he didn’t really need to be there hahaha.
I am no Hitchcock….. 😉
Air your view and be damned M!!!

Well researched, well presented, as always. I remember being taught about Constantine and the Council of Nicaea at school in religious education. Even as an ignorant indoctrinated child I could sense that the credibility of the supposed “word of god” was questionable indeed. Most Christians look the other way when confronted to such historical facts. Therefore, faith is a convenient choice and has nothing to do with reason.

Thanks for reading 🙂
Your Religious Education in school was better than mine, we were never taught about Constantine that came much later for me. An historical meeting with many religious and political waves.
Faith is blind.

I’d say ‘faith is convenient’.

I would also say ‘faith is doubt’ if you base your religion on faith without proof what does that make you ?

Someone once said that if you could reason with religious people there would be no religious people 🙂

Thank you so much for taking the time out to read my article it is much appreciated. I have always been fascinated by religious mythology and history in general. If only theists saw it as an interest and not a reason for a belief system.
If you liked this piece you may like a few other history/religion based posts. Would equally enjoy your feedback on those

Everyone does Brenda, that’s why we go to see ancient religions of old in awe, in Egypt, in the Americas, in Northern Europe. But current religions still kill people, that’s why we can’t yet visit Mecca to observe relics of history. May be in a century.
